(WINNER: CRUTBALL) 8/28/08 NO GUTS NO GLORY: THE ULTIMATE SKILLZ CHALLENGE

They say a picture is worth 1000 words........

Look at that emotion...&.....this was the first round.
Congrats to this month's winner CRUTBALL
*
Special LOVE goes out to all my peeps that came through for either the listening session (DMV soundcheck) and or the No Guts No Glory Competition. Special shout out to Top of the Hill Records - Big Tim & Bunny. You guys are my right and left hands. I need yall in my life. Bunny - THE FOOD WAS OFF THE CHAINS!!!! - that seafood salad recipe should be patented. Also to....Phathead & Mr. Nance of Head Nod Entertainment for making the first DMV soundcheck a success. Phathead, the beat selections this month were SOOOOOOO on point! You really HIT US ALL IN THE HEAD when you put on that Ghetto Boys "My Mind's Playing Tricks on Me" - WOAAAAAH!!! Big Ups to all the artists that bought their music through to be heard. We even had a reggaton act come through with some heat. I loved it. We tried something new this month & due to the overwhelmingly positive response....we're going to do it again.........LIVE BEATS! THE MPC was in the building. This is all ima say for now..... I want you to come and check it out for youself. If you are a producer and want an opportunity to showcase your hottest material...get at me. I have the perfect vehicle. I want to say thank you once again to our very fair and honorable judges Nik Styles and Ron G. Both stood up and made the tough decisions when they were called upon to do so. Your time and efforts are greatly appreciated.

This month's competition was the best so far. I can't wait for J5 to post some of the video (I LOVE BMOREHH.COM) .......ALL of the competitors really put their best foot forward and really showed us all how to play the game. The bought my vision to life. They all rocked the crowd - no doubt, but there can only be ONE winner.....and if I may say so.....he came to win.

CRUTBALL was diggin in ninja's azzez
.........but

Fire Arms of M.O.L
sho gave him a run for his money.

The flow is sick
one of the more controversial rounds was between Fire Arms and CrutBall...at the end of it CB was the winner, but please believe it was close...practically a tie, but a tough decision had to be made. Big Ups to Fire Arms for helping to make the game what it needs to be.

FAT DADDY aka ORPHAN

did the DAMN THANG AS USUAL!
*
You have got to look at the faces of the people in the audience....LOL!

Henny, Baltimore's ODB, even had the "WTF?" look on his face. Check out Bar with the "what song can i put this mad man" look on his face....LOL!

This is a new MC on the scene....he goes by the name of PUNCHLINE. Duuuuuuuuuuuuuuuude is CRAZY....as in OFF. I don't think it was an act. Nik Styles' face says it all (red top). LOL! The key for him now is to learn how to channel that spastic energy . In all actuality...he could turn into one hell of an entertainer. He obviously has no problem throwing himself totally into his show. Plus he had the audience captive. Everyone's eyes popped out their sockets. The flow was like nails on a chalkboard in a Lil Boosie Badass kinda way (screeetchy and high pitched) - you love it or hate it.....and while he rapped he bounced up and down REAL HARD (Hillarious is not strong enough a word). I was waiting for him to at ANY SECOND to leap frog into the crowd.....LOL! I'm sure I'm not doing an adequate job of describing this guy.....LOL! ...he was off the hook. I hope J5 got video of him if nothing else. He was damn near ready to pass out after the first round....LOL! He exerted more energy than a marathon runner on the final 100 meter stretch.

Can you tell he was TRULY a highlight of my evening????

*

Sonny Reddz is ALWAYS on point. He knows how to win over a crowd. He constantly switches his flow up and the people seem to really respond to his in your face - step to the edge of the stage - aggressive delivery. I can't lie.....I'm diggin this white boy. He comes across as the real genuine article. No fabrication required.

THE FINALS.............

Sonny Reddz & CrutBall

Not pictured, but not to be forgotten.......
Shout out to emcees Dean Redi and SHICE.
Yall did your thang thizzle. Hope to see yall again!!
*
Ogun got the people on their feet during the intermission. Anybody that knows.....sing along "I gives a F how you feel....Ima keep keep keepin it real.....Im real on purpose.....Im real on purpose...." LOL! I feel so bad that I didnt get any pics of South Paw Entertainment, but they kilt it for sure. Thank you guys for your time an energy!!! Its always a pleasure

After a hard fought battle to the finish.....
My dude was happy &
......I was so very happy for him!!
C & C
CrutBall has sho come a long way. I remember the first day I met him like 3 years ago. His progression as an artist is evident. The material he presented was reflective and deep. Plus....he knew how to rock a crowd!!! I can't lie....he killed us all softly ( & surprised the HELL out of me) with the verse he spit in the final round. This month's "SLICK RICK" round's topic was "Something for the Ladies". I think from the look of appreciation on the ladies faces and the numerous compliments the women paid him after the round - he hit it out the park. Did you peep that he took his shirt off?...LOL! Folk be gettin into it. Big Ups to Third Infantry Productions, providers of the round's FIYAH!

Be on the look out for new material from Crut Ball.
Shout out to all my EDMONDSON AVENUE representers - EA EA!
